On Saturday 1 June I had the privilege of hosting a Cancer Council NSW Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. I look forward to this event each and every year as a way to support the Cancer Council, which supports so many people in their darkest of hours. Cancer has affected many Australians, whether it is those diagnosed with cancer or the loved ones of those diagnosed with this awful disease. Cancer unfairly and sadly took my mother at the age of 41—far too soon—and it is in her memory I host a morning tea annually.

I inform the House of a great local hero, Ms Anne Farah‑Hill.

The Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre CEO has recently been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her service to the community through social welfare organisations.

Anne has developed a team of competent and dedicated staff members and volunteers who always go above and beyond what is required. Anne has also built a strong network of community and business organisations who have supported the centre and been supported by it.
