Welcoming Xiamen Airlines to Sydney International Airport

I am delighted to be at Sydney Airport this morning and represent the NSW Government to welcome the Xiamen Airlines inaugural flight from Fuzhou to Sydney.

The NSW Government is committed to working with Chinese and Australian airlines to increase visitation to Sydney and Regional NSW, helping maintain our position     as Australia’s number one tourism and events State.

Being Greek Festival

On Sunday 25th October 2015 I had the pleasure of attending the Being Greek Festival at Carss Bush Park. The Being Greek Festival is a celebration of all thing Greek including culture, music and food. It is one of the most important events in the Greek community and I was delighted that the Prime Minister and the Member for Miranda, Eleni Petinos, who knows a thing or two about being Greek, were able to attend.

Heart Health Awareness Event

Good morning and welcome to this wonderful event.

My congratulations to the organisers of this heart health awareness event. Well done to RAIN, Hurstville City Council and the NSW Department of Health.

I am very pleased to see so many of you here for such an important cause as Heart Health Awareness.

As I look out across the auditorium I see red – a symbol of the Heart Foundation’s Go Red for Women Campaign.

As many of you know heart disease is the single biggest killer of Australian women and kills three times more women than breast cancer does.

As host for today’s United Nations Association lunch and on behalf of the Premier of NSW Mike Baird I would like to welcome you all to Parliament House.

In particular I would like to welcome today’s Guest of Honour Justice Elizabeth Evatt AC and the other distinguished guests.

Today is a celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the acceptance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the General Assembly.
