Mark Coure, Member for Oatley, announced that the St George area has a new location for local residents to Return and Earn with the opening of a Reverse Vending Machine at Bexley Golf Course.
“Return and Earn has been a terrific success across the St George area. It has fundamentally changed people’s thinking and behaviour around recycling,” Mr Coure said.
Mr Coure said the Bexley Golf Course Reverse Vending Machine was one of more than 630 return points available across the state.
“Return and Earn continues to prosper, with over 3 billion containers deposited for recycling across NSW since the initiative began just over two years ago.”
“By returning eligible containers in combination with household recycling collection, we can all do our bit to reduce the millions of containers littered in NSW each year.”
Customers who use Reverse Vending Machines like the one at Bexley Golf Course have the option to print a voucher for the refund amount which is redeemable at Woolworths.
There is also the option to donate your refund to the Cans for Koalas recycling appeal. Donations to this appeal will go towards delivering crucial funding to WWF-Australia’s Wildlife and Nature Recovery Fund, which provides ongoing care to wildlife in the wake of the recent devastating bushfires.
Additionally, customers can opt for an e-voucher or payment into their PayPal account by downloading the MyTOMRA app.
The new Bexley Golf Club Reverse Vending Machine is located at 203 Stoney Creek Road, Kingsgrove and is open from 8am to 7pm daily.
Planning is also underway for two additional Reverse Vending Machines in the St George area.
